I would go back and make sure that Robert Kennedy was not shot. He would have been the president in 1968, and I believe would have withdrawn the US from Vietnam 30,000 deaths earlier. Also, we would not have had a taste of the rampant corruption of Nixon which was simply forgiven by Ford - that doesn't send a very good message to future presidents, some of whom have committed far-worse offenses.
