She's coughing a lot and is cranky. For the past couple of nights she's had trouble sleeping. The Dr says she's showing some signs of the pneumonia and is on meds already.

I've had personal experience with something similar and i think it's best not to use a vaporizor right now. they can make things worse and sometimes even cause the pneumonia. Try putting something uncer her upper body to tilt her up some so it'll help with the congestion/drainage. Keep her nose sucked out and keep her well hydrated. try a warm bath to help with the breathing, and relaxation before putting her to bed, but be sure to dry her completely, hair and all. Don't send her to bed partially wet. I also always try to suck out their mouths whenever they cough up the yucky stuff.

Well that would be my question also. My baby is 6 months and has RSV. He is getting better but still having trouble sleeping. He's never been a good sleeper to start with. The best thing I can tell you is to have lots of patience even though they are hard to come by all hours of the night. Also prop her up and if coughing gets too bad use humidifier or run hot shower and take her in the bathroom or see Dr. about breathing treatments. I don't know what your beliefs are but most importantly I've preyed a lot for rest and God has helped most of all.

My son has gotten a lot of colds lately with the weird weather, and the trick i've learned is to have his head AND legs elevated. Theres something about it that relaxes him.

What I do is put a pillow underneath the upper portion of his body (chest, shoulders and head) then put a thicker pillow under his legs. Plus I rub a little bit of Vicks Vapor Rub on his chest and it makes him sleep more soundly, but dont use a whole lot, just maybe half a pea size amount, but dont put it on their face)

i'm pregnant with #4, and comprehend that each infant, only like anybody sleeps with ease in distinctive positions. After 2 months of waking up each hour, we began laying the 1st on her abdomen, and he or she slept in the process the night. My 2nd slept on her factor with a sort of curvy infant pillow issues. And my 0.33, became given a pillow to sleep on whilst he became at infant's medical institution NICU. It became a gel crammed pillow with a paper skinny pillow case. truthfully, i could not have confidence what share stuff that they had in his bassinet on the medical institution... the pillow, countless receiving blankets, a filled undergo, 2 mommy-scented "dolls", granted the video demonstrate instruments might have long previous off if he stopped respiratory or his heartrate dropped under a definite value.... factor is, shop infant delicate, a competent night's sleep is efficacious for the completed kin, and somebody else stated to place the pillow under the crib sheet... super thought!

Elevating the head is good. The cough could be due to drainage in the throat and this helps with it and keeps choking down I was told to put my baby in his car seat-it is much safer than using something to prop them up that they could fall from or slide out of. If she still likes swaddling, I would do that also.

Elevate her head while she is sleeping... that will help some. Also run a humidifier in the room where she is sleeping.
