I got a plant for christmas that was very shiny. Now it is geting dull. I want it to be shiny agian. Will this hurt the plant? It's a spath. (Christmas lilly.)

A product that florist use is Green Glo. It works very well. It will not harm the plant but You shouldn't spray it every week. should last a long time.
I think your plant is called a spathelium. Commonly known as a Peace Lilly.

You can buy a spray to keep the leaves shiny, or you can use vegetable cooking oil (only on the tops, do not use on the underneath leaf. Put a little on a cotton ball and shine away!

Polish the top sides of the leaves with milk. Works like a dream!

You can try putting your plant in the shower or outside when it rains but, they do make a spray for this but I don't know what it's called. Ask your local flower shop they would probly sell you a can.

Wash the leaves with water.Don't use any leaf shine (like florists) because it will plug up the stomata.

Use mayonaise (miracle whip), and rub every leave with it, it will keep the leaves shiney and healthy for approx 6 mths.

Use milk and apply it with a cotton ball. It will dry shiney.
