Every time i switch on my computer speakers i can hear a girls voice saying 'i want you'. She sounds quite young (late teens to early 20's). When it first started i only heard it occasionally but it's getting more often and it's freaking me out.

Any ideas on what this could be and how do i get rid of it??

i love the way that some people think it's either the start up noise, it's not coming from the computer or that i'm hearing it wrong. It is a girls voice coming from the speakers saying "i want you" Im freaked out not stupid, that's why this is in the computers section not the mythologhy section. Thanks to all the people who gave constructive answers!

Update and run your Anti-Virus program. Don't have one? You can run a free online scan from Trendmicro. When I have tested it it takes some time to run it but it may be time well spent if it can fix any problems.

Download and run http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

Download, update and run Spybot---http://www.safer-networking.org/ . Don't forget to use the Immunize feature.

Download, update and run Adaware---http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/products/select_your_product.php

When I turn on my computer.. there is noise, my computer has children laughing ...my daughters has space shuttle noise some computers has musical tones ...All to let you know your speakers are working . I believe its just a sequence of tones that sound like what you think are those words now if it bothers you that much take it to a computer store to see if they can put a different beginning noise on, mabey new theme on there, or just turn off your speakers.

So my suggestion is to take it to a computer store.

It is almost certainly a virus. Run a virus checker, and it will probably be worth doing a spyware check as well.

If that doesn't work, try to find a virus forum on the net and ask someone on there.

it has to do with a wav file when your computer boots. i would run a anti virus to make sure , and have someone check your bios if you don't know how and turn off voice post or something like that sorry been awhile. there is a setting in bios to disable voice post i believe

There are no Windows keys to run when turning on speakers. Are you sure its coming from the speakers? Can anybody else hear this anomoly?

I don't know if you are seriously ask, or not. One thing that's possible is you check the window sound and change it to be another sound. Second option is try set your windows to be mute mode, and open it. if there's still a girl noice, call ghost buster. Last option, FORMAT your computer.

i had somthing similar, well not really. but it was actually music (techno/house) and it came up at random times, whatever i was doing. it turned out to be a virus, i just used some anti-virus software and it went. hope that helps.
