And thank you for serving our country, Gary.

The only reason Kerry volunteered was for political positioning. Mimicking John Kennedy's path. JFK... PT Boats.. World War II wounded. Hero. John Kerry.. Swift boat (PT boat equivalent).. Vietnam.... wounded. Trouble for Kerry was that people turned on the war , so there goes the JFK thing. He comes back with his three Band-Aid Purple Hearts and, trying to hitch another ride on the new spirit of his times, tries to redefine himself as a hero.

Ever since, he's been jumping back and forth. Anti-military most of the time, but " Lt Kerry reporting for duty!" when the the public is in a fighting mood. Who knows where he'll be next time.

Kerry was influencened by both his own family and JFK and volunteered out because he thought it was the right thing to do. As he said in 2004, he served for two tours of duty - the first one was on a ship that was outside Vietnamese waters. The second was where he was in Vietnam on the swift boats and, after he was injured 3 times, he was re-assigned to a Brooklyn, NY admiral. In all he was in service for slightly less than 4 YEARS.

Kerry was motivated because he was brought up to believe that public service was a noble calling. After law school, he was a prosecutor for several years. He has spent 24 years as Lt Governor and Senator. (As to his medal- the Navy gave them to him, challanging his makes ALL medals suspect. Nixon had Kerry checked out in 1971 and was dissapointed to find he was clean and a war hero. Many of those who lied in 2004 had written glowing reports in 1968/1969.)

Why not Bush? If he were anti-war, it would be honest to say that in 1968 when he got out of school - it was clearer that the war was a fiasco than it was in 1966 when Kerry left school.

The most likely reason is that Bush didn't want to go, his dad pulled strings and he was out. He was a priviledged kid who didn't see any responsibility coming from that priviledge.

According to Bush, at the time he was due to serve overseas, who was on some secret mission for the government.

Yeah, so Bush didn't rush up and leap overseas. Speaking personally, I probably would have been one of the cowards heading for the Canadian border. Well, actually, I would have been thanking God I was a woman and couldn't be drafted.

It's old news. I'm far more worried about the trouble he can get into now than the trouble he got into thirty years ago.

i became there....there have been an entire lotta human beings who did not volunteer for Vietnam....that truly did not make any distinction no remember in case you had to or not. i did not volunteer yet became a factor of a Marine unit that became despatched early interior the warfare. and that i might elect to point out our that there have been fairly some national shelter instruments shipped out for Nam for the time of that warfare so i might think of that they had a shot of going until now it became throughout. additionally, there have been a ton of adult adult males that have been interior the provider that did not circulate notwithstanding it lasted for 10 years. a minimum of he served his u . s . on an identical time Clinton became off in England warding off the draft and demonstating against the warfare in a foreign places u . s .. did not look to remember to the Dems as that became their modus operandi in the process the completed conflict. whilst the Rep got here into the presidency all of surprising the Dems obstructed the warfare attempt at each turn and that they are people who began it!!! So do not tell me relating to the excessive and amazing libs. They nevertheless have blood on their palms from the three million who died in southeast asia as quickly as we left. and that i did not see one swinging d*** protesting the slaughter of all those undesirable souls---greater then have been killed in 10 years of warfare. the full element became politics from the word circulate and the libs have not replaced their stripes. they might enable hundreds of thousands die to prop up their very own "compassionate" party. and that they are attempting to do it back. Humanity be damned. shall we do what's politically marvelous no remember what the cost. What Kerry did became commendable. yet his comments for the reason that shows that he has little admire for grunts who do the heavy lifting. He greater beneficial desire the warriors he disparaged with the aid of telling a team of school pupils that in the event that they did not shop their grades up they might finally end up in Iraq, are good sufficient to guard his bony *** whilst the the enemy comes knocking at our front door next time. for sure he isnt the brightest bulb interior the chandelier.

Kerry volunteered for Vietnam and he gets my respect and credit for doing so. However, a lot of Kerry's post-Vietnam actions bring shame upon him.

Millions of young men at the time did not believe in the war and/or didn't want to go. Bush was one of them. He found a legitimate alternative.

Kerry should be praised for his service, but Bush should not be denigrated for his.

By the way, if we had gone to war for oil, we would have seized the oil fields and taken the oil for ourselves. The fact that the US did not do so blows your theory to smithereens.

Kerry served 3 months of a 12 month tour. How come he cut & run, and is that where he get's his current philosophy? President Bush volunteered for the Texas Air National Guard and completed his obligation. Kerry, on the other hand, bugged out on the brave men he was supposed to serve with and instead, collaborated with the enemy in Paris. Talk about a turncoat piece of crap, he should have been thrown in jail. His former commanding officer called him a coward. He faked wounds to get out early and he still won't release his military records. He buddied up to Hanoi Jane by claiming he tossed his Purple Hearts over the White House wall yet they mysteriously reappeared on his Senate Office wall. This buttplug lies when its easier to tell the truth. Some hero you picked to worship!! HERE'S YOUR SIGN!!!

Kerry went to Viet Nam to set up his political career. The "Winter Soldier" also set up his purple heart by blowing up a kettle of uncooked rice which "wounded" him in his posterior. He returned to betray the military in the anti-war movement.
President Bush enlisted in the Texas Air National Guard to fulfill his commitment for the draft. His unit did not rotate to Viet Nam.

Volunteer for service? Daddy bought his way out of Vietnam. He might've actually had to do some work instead of drinking and screwing around. No kidding he was a coward. At least his father was in WW2 but I heard he didn't see any action. Great Grandad bought his way out of the civil war too. Seems that running runs in the Bush family.

He was in the guard unlike Clinton(a coward that was voted in for 8 years). There were a lot of people that avoided the draft. And yes I am also a vet.
