I currently live in Iowa and want to be around lots of horse crazy people! Where would the best safe place be in Texas? A place that isn't very expensive too but has good job opportunities?

My vote is Dallas. (The humidity in Houston is horrible!!!)

Housing may be more than Iowa, but the job market is pretty stable and there are tons of well known companies in these areas. I would specifically target the Irving/Las Colinas and Plano areas.

Being that I was born and raised in Texas (and still living here) I would say you could live anywhere and be around horse crazy people lol!! UNlike places like Cali, NY, and other places, Texas is a pretty inexpensive place to live. As far as job opportunity you would most likely need to be looking to move near or in the city. I don't really know much about AUstin's job opportunities, but Houston and Dallas are some good places to look into, but if I had to pick between the two you might want to look more into HOuston.

Austin is great but don't let anyone kid you about the cost of living in the city .................it is outrageous....but there are lots of towns in the area maybe only 20 minutes away...........Austin just spreads in every direction with little towns everywhere because the housing market is too hot in austin proper.
