Something I see very regularly here at the local swap meets is silver dollar size coins (mostly Chinese or Japanese, but often US and Mexico, as well). They are almost always copies and do not contain any silver at all. This type of fake is being mass produced in millions quantities in China and the market is being flooded with them. I am reluctant to buy any coins fron eBay sellers in China or Hong Kong because a very high percentage of coins they are offering are copies.

A geniune silver dollar contains .77 ounces of silver. At $12.50 per ounce, that is $9.62 worth of silver.
