Intercollegiate = funded by the athletic department

Club Sport = recognized, but not funded by the athletic department. Funds come from sponsorships and donations.
Many times, a club sport such as hockey, eventually becomes funded by the school.

Intramural = open for participation by anyone enrolled in the school.

I ran NCAA track in college, and yes it was fun, although difficult to keep up with classes.
