How is that that you have to act like a slut to be popular. I'm sorry, but that's the way it is in my school. How can I be well-liked by mostly everyone and still be myself and not end up like the regular pop. girls in my school?

Why do you need mostly everyone to like you in the first place? Popularity fades away just as fashions come and go. You even said it for yourself, to be popular at your school you would have to turn into something you dislike. Why not be INTELLIGENT instead of POPULAR. Intelligence will get you way ahead in life rather that being popular......
But anyway, if you need a popularity boost, IT'S ALL IN THE CLOTHES YOU WEAR. If you get really cute clothes, EVERYBODY is going to want to be close to you. Trust me, IT WORKS, but again it is not the solution...
Just remember this: How Do You Want People to Remember You 20 Years from Now? What impression would you like to leave in your classmates so that when you return to a class reunion you won't feel embarrassed or reluctant to attend the class reunion?

OK your icon shows your a girl. So here is how you become popular. I transferred schools alot. and I hated not having friends i read a couple books on it. here are the steps.
1. Become good friends with a middle ranking girl like a step below popular. I'm sure you know one, probably smart, kinda cute, and is really sweet.
2. Once your friends you can start hanging out with her at the mall or on weekend etc.
3. You'll meet her friends . Once your in that group you'll know the guys.
4. Get to know the popular guys because they talk just as much as the girls.
5. Get to the know the middle girls best most popular friend and become good friends.
6. Don't be fake but people like complements. So if you like their purse or the eye make up tell them. They will want you around more because you make them feel better.
7. Know you know the popular girl and middle girl and you've made many new friends.
Don't compromise your self.

1st- Find out the principals address.
2nd- Get a couple of kegs
3rd- print up flyers of the kegger and pass them out around school
nah that would never work out as planned, but at least i'm not going to say the same comment as everyone else (Just Be Yourself). I hate it when people say that sh!t. because im sure you've just been being yourself for all your life right? and it hasnt worked for you yet or else you wouldnt be asking the question. people telling you to just be yourself are actually telling you to give up in a sense and to not try at all. well what you need to do is try something different to stand out to theese so called "popular" kids in your school. After you graduate though you'll find out life is not a popularity contest.

Maybe some of those morons ARE acting like themselves! Now that's a scary thought! lol I know what you mean, though. As long as 'acting like ourselves' is not meaning staying within our comfort zone, then stretching your limit would be cool. I mean, I think it would be cool if a person had an 'attitude' as people say, not a bad one, but a bit cocky. Yet at the same time had that fair-mindedness that made them want to treat everyone the same, maybe even looking out for the underdog that you could have been.
A lot of people's problems, including my own, is thinking that being myself is not talking to hardly anyone. The Comfort Zone is something that needs to be stretched as we live, or people will turn out like me....a hermit! LOL

Be kind and friendly to all you meet. You'll find that you have friends from all different walks.
If you have to be mean to people to be in the "in crowd", then that crowd is NOT the one you want to be with anyways. If they're ugly to others, you are not missing out on much if they're not your friends.
The fact is alot of the times people don't really even like the popular kids themselves. They just put up with them and boost their egos so they can be around them.
The popular kids who are the best are the ones who can treat everyone well.

sweety why would you want to be popular popularity is not all they make it out to be popularity is just a whole bunch of rich people who think thry are too good to notice any one who is not. i feel that you have a wonderful personality and every body love a wonder ful personality all you have to do if you really want it that much is to talk to some you think is popular and ask them about ur compatability and work you way in to their hearts pretty soon he or she will be introducing you to lots of popular people and i kno this because i have my whole school wanting to beat me up for fake rumorsand this is how i ease some of them off my back!!

You don't have to be a **** that is ridiculous I am not a jerk and I am part of the popular crowd. popularity isn't that important I just made friends with the right people I guess. that is how it works in my school. It isn't all as great as it seems as long as you have friends who like you for who you are and that is what is really important.

Just be yourself and just talk to some of the popular kids and ask them if they want to be your friends if they say yes your in the popular crowd. Just be yourself and everything will work out

to become popular you sometimes have to do things you don't like to do but the way to do it is to be nice to all the preps and then when they like you start being nice to everyone and then the whole circle will start again

dress in name brand clothes.makeup and nice hair helps too.wear a cute purse to top it off.with some jewlery. =] and the main key.CONFIDENCE.
