I don't care if people think it's funny or cool that they are putting Rory Fitzpatrick on the All-Star team. In reality, as of right now (1/6/07) he has 1 point this season and only 22 penalty minutes. He doesn't do anything. I don't care what a nice guy people think he is either. Being on the All-Star team means you are the best at your position. Putting him on this team will take a spot away from a more deserving player.

I agree with you. He is not an All Star caliber player. He should be ashamed of himself if he ends up with enough votes and he goes. I hope they don't take the voting away from the fans because I enjoy voting but if something stupid like this happens then I agree they need to take it away from us.

Apparently, the league is loving all the free publictiy they are getting out of the Rory Fitzpatrick situation. They see it as a Rocky type thing. The all-star game is just a show for the fans in any case. The players would just as soon have the weekend off to spend with their families as go through the motions. What difference does it make how good the players are in a scrimmage with no hitting and hardly any defense? If it makes the fans happy to have Fitzpatrick on the team he should be on the team. The purists will ***** and moan about Rory being in the all-star game and then watch the game anyways, but the league would love to have folks who are new to hockey tune in to see Rory "Rocky"Fitzpatrick.

It's a joke and the players aren't that thrilled with it. Gretzky has talk down about it. Colby Armstrong commented on it saying that he's going to start "Vote for Colby" thank god he was just joking but then he commented on how anyone who should play on the all-stars should be good like Crosby (they play on the same team and are good friends). Oh well what are you gonna do this year? Hopefully, next year this doesn't happen. Someone who actually deserves Rory's place might not get it. Maybe Rory will admit to himself he doesn't belong there and will give up his sport. (I hope)

After Gretzky spoke out publicly against the belief of Fitzpatrick making it to the all-time-honored person interest, many followers have been given off the Rory bandwagon. very final I heard is he has fallen acceptable off contained interior the polls and can desire to not have sufficient vote to win a niche.

I think you miss the point, along with almost everybody else. The point is that a lot of players that do get voted in are less deserving than some of the lesser known players who toil in obscurity.

anytime fans are allowed to pick an all star team it is a popularity contest and not based on skill...so they need to let sports writers or whomever pick the teams, unless they want a popularity contest
