You will have to do it more than once.
I bought a house once from people who lied about letting their dog in....
Fumigate & powder once, wait several hours, then vaccum thoroughly!!! There will still be eggs to get rid of- I suggest those sticky "traps"- they do help when the larvae develop.
After a couple of weeks, do it all again to kill the newbies.

I had a friend whose fumigation took about 2-4 hours.Hope this info helps.Please make my answer the best given!!

It kills them almost immediately. You have to redo it again in a few weeks to kill the ones that just hatched. The instructions will tell you when to redo it.

If you see live ones the next day, I would worry.
