My '02 Ford Explorer XLS came with a remote that allows me to lock and unlock the doors remotely, the remote has a panic button and when I push it two time the lights blink and the horn sounds once but then if I unlock the door with the key and opening it while it's still "armed" it doesn't do anything...does this mean my car only has keyless entry with no alarm or is there a fuse or cable unplugged? I'v even tried going in the car, locking it with the remote and then opening the door, it still doesn't do anything...any ideas?

First check your fuses, it could be that you dont have the alarm option.

That's the way it's supposed to work. Unlocking the door with the key shuts off the alarm. Try arming it with the windows down and opening the door by reaching inside.

thats not a bad thing, how many people really do anything when that loud pain in the A#@ is honking away in some parking lot or in your driveway at 3a.m. while im trying to sleep. But I would start with the fuse box if not there take in and use the warrenty on that car too many people pay for warrenty plans and never use them.
