What are you talking about people, being tall is great and almost gives you an advantage in every sport. In tennis, coz some people are so short they have put lots of top spin on the ball to make it drop because they are so short that they'll always hit the net or the ball will go out. But if your taller its easier to serve plus a longer reach and you have a bigger range at hitting your strokes.

Well to get taller id recomend lots of stretching, sleep, dairy foods you know healthy stuff. yeh...

* If you are 25+, I beleive the growth process is over. The only thing left is to wear high heels, but that won't improve your tennis game :-)
* If you are young, a teenager perhaps, to be as tall as you can, it is improtant to sleep during nights. The growth hormone is produced at certain times in night. Vitamins are also essencial. Consume tablets of B complex, A+D - fish oil tablets (maybe not for a vegetarian). Proteins are important because they build up body mass. If you play tennis you need all the strength you can get. Meat is rich with proteins, but mushrooms are the perfect replacement, beeing a vegeterian.
* Growth is geneticly inherited, I believe. You can do everything to get taller, but if that is your natural limit, there isn't anything else you can do.

* Maybe tennis isn't the sport for you. Try a sport where hight isn't important. Basketball, for instance.

Shes simply in a funk and hasnt played well in Canada, yet. Ever. This is more so a strategy on her part I feel. There is no clear cut favorite to win The US Open, and she wont be on top of list with her recent performances. However, like lil sis, she turns it up at The Slams and will make a bit of noise, or maybe alot of noise. She needs to work on service toss and as usual, the forehand, and remain aggressive at ALL times. During rallies, as long as her opponents stays in the point, they always have a chance. One thing about her and sis, is they arent as patient and start pressing and thats when the errors come in. On that note, she is #3 in the world, and these players that have beat her wont go too much higher or ever be a threat. Venus will always be a threat even on a bad day. Huge difference.

Just because you are tall does not mean you will be better at tennis then shorter people. Take Henin-Hardenne for example, she is like 4 feet high and she was like the best female tennis player of the year. Maybe your size is not the real problem, maybe, it's just you. Practice makes perfect.

I definately understand where you're coming from. At 5'1", I am shorter then most of my opponents. However, I've found this to be as much an advantage as a disadvantage. Being shorter, I find it easier to grab the low balls and move around the court.

When it really comes down to it, its about skill not height. Just concentrate on your game!

height really has nothing to do with it. i play tennis too. it is all about the tennis strategy. i mean height can be important especially with serving.

you can't really make yourself taller....i would talk to your doctor to ask if there is a safe way.

but to win tournaments just stay focused during the match and focus on game play strategy....good luck with tournaments. hope you win your next one!

youre height has nothing to do with being really good at tennis. you just have to use it to your advantage. my tennis instructor is probably 5' yet she beats everyone in her tournaments.
