DNA is pretty cool. Each sugar molecule in the strand also binds to one of four different nucleotide bases. These bases include the following: Adenine, Guanine, Cytosine and Thymine

There are actually 4 basic molecules that makes us the DNA strand.

Thymine, Cytosine, Adenine and Quanine.

I am not sure if you consider the phosphate backbone as one of them and the deoxyribose sugar be one of them.
