Is there any way to do this without taking it to the drycleaners? Thanks!

Pre-treat the tie in Dawn dish soap then handwash it in mild detergent and lukewarm water. Do not squeeze the tie, just gently slosh it around the water. Lay the tie on a thick towel and loosely roll the towel up. Stand on the towel to soak up all the water. Air dry. When it's dry, lay a t-shirt or thin towel, like a kitchen towel, over the tie and iron. Voila!! Good as new!!

The very best oil remover for any clothes stain is GOOP. You can buy it anywhere. Just apply to the stain and rub it in, let sit for a few minutes and then wash the tie like normal.

You can try sprinkling it with cornstarch and letting it sit overnight.
