I like you because you are smart...I am so happy to hear someone who is as young as you being so mature...you will go far in life...good for you my dear!!!
Your parents must be so proud of you because you actually understand the real world and those stupid "Paris Hilton" types don't....I just want to say good for you...keep up your intelligence:)))

Yes, they "fall" in love, but the love is not mature. It is infatuation and it is selfish. It is usually all about "how he/she makes me feel." When the "feeling" changes, they "fall" out of love.
Mature love is a much more active process, more concern for the other person, and a realization that love sometimes takes work.
Very few people in their teens are really capable of this yet. Their personalities are not even fully formed, and they don't really know what will make them happy. So how can they be ready to make somebody else happy? That is why mature love rarely happens in high school.

Believe it or not, some really do, but it is very rare. I have a friend at work that is still after fifty years married to his high school sweetheart. Its sooo sweet. But it is a blessing and a rarity. The only way to find out is for it to happen...you know what I mean?

Considering that the average age in high school is a wise old 17 yrs., I doubt it, but they truly believe they are in love.
And it's no use telling them otherwise, what they lack in experience and knowledge, they make up for with hormones and energy.

I say nothing is impossible. My sister-in-law and her husband of 20 years started off as "boyfriend and girlfriend" when they were in kindergarten together. They've basically never been apart. I know this isn't normal......but it does happen.

You're right..........way too young! What they are feeling is nothing more than puppy love and mere infatuation.
