#1- Its natural for them to do that. Yes, it sounds silly.
#2- It is not natural for people to throw rocks at animals. Would you like it if people were throwing rocks at you and it hit you in the head??? I am sure you would not find that funny nor would you laugh.

Yeah, u missed the part where the hyena took a photo of you with his hidden camera, then tracked you down to where you live and he is going to sneak around when you are not expecting it and bite you on the ***!

The laugh is not actually a laugh. It's a call but humans think it sounds like a laugh. It might be a call of pain, hatred or anger. It might be calling it's pack to attack you. Who knows?
