why do you assume they do the dishes?

Yes.....I have no problem with that. I made sure I had one when I bought my house. Dishwashers can come in handy...especially if you have company at your house.....you don't want to leave them to wash dishes, or even if someone is sick......as a dishwasher will heat water way above the boiling point........so it also sanitizes the dishes. Ever think of that?

I own a dishwasher but it hardly ever gets used. I prefer to wash dishes by hand- it's a lot quicker than rinsing then loading then unloading and now that my kids don't drink from bottles anymore I'm not as anal about sterilizing stuff.

I wash my dishes by hand by choice--my dishwasher usually just holds extra stuff lol

Listen, did you know a dishwasher uses less water, it cost less for the detergent, and it cuts down on the bill to heat the water, so dig into those deep pockets and get her a dishwasher, you can even purchase one that is used in good condition and it will work just fine, so go get her one!

For most women I know if the males in their life would rather them hand wash dishes, they would leave them for the males to do

Wife doesn't wash the dishes, I do. And I got all the money and I won't buy me one cause they will raise my property taxes.
