A pessimist is someone who is pessimistic. Just kidding. They are always someone who looks to the gloomy or bad side of things. Instead of saying that the clouds look really nice with all of the colours from a sunset or something, they would probably say, it looks like rain, I won't be able to barbecue...etc. just a gloomy person, or someone who thinks of the downside of everything.

PESSIMIST: A person who looks at the negative aspect of situations. For example : DIARREAH . The pessimistic view of diarreah is that it sux and makes you and your cornhole feel like crap ( litterally) while the non- pessimistic view of a non- pessimistic person having non- pessimistic unpessimistic-like thoughts would say that having diarreah is a wonderful enlightening experience simply because of the weight loss factor.

someone who tends to see the negative side of an action or an event. He or she always feels the worst will happen. It's like a negative outlook on life. We all have negativism sometimes. But a pessimist fells negative frequently.

It means your have something negative to say about everything. Nothing is ever good or going your way. Say you get honor roll in school and have 6 A's and 1 B, and your parent would say why didn't you get 7 A's? That's pessimism. Or you get a 97 on a test and someone says, why couldn't you get 100? They can make anything sound bad. It makes me think of rich kids and emo kids. Basically, they see the glass half empty instead of half full.
