kelseymor is right - acetone - acetone is in fingernail polish remover - you can use the fingernail polish remover on the glass but not the wood.

Note: make sure it is a acetone based fingernail polish remover that you use - there are some brands that will sell a non-acetone fingernail polish remover (it will say so on the front label of the bottle)

Try using a razor blade first, then any remaining residue with a cotton swap and nail polish remover. Most of it should come off with the razor blade.

Just remember never to scrape DRY glass with a blade--wet it with some window cleaner first.

there right razor blade on glass, comes off so easy. goo gone or goof off is other good removers for many other things too...
