Acoustic guitars normally dont plug into an amp (but there are some that can), and have a larger hollow body where the sound of the strings being plucked come from.
most acoustic guitars have 6 strings but there are some that you can buy that have 12.

A bass guitar only has 4 strings compared to acoustic and electric gutiars which have normally have 6 strings.

and an electric guitar plugs into an amplifier and can be played really loud. electric guitars can use different effect pedals to produce "wah-wah" effects for example, or you can use tube screamers to get really nice sounds too.

Hope that helps!

Acoustic and Electric guitars are six string guitars. Acoustic guitars are generally of the folk variety and normally don't need amplification. Electric guitars are used in rock bands.

Bass guitars are of two varieties: the electric bass guitar generally plays with four strings but can have six or even more. The acoustic bass guitar is generally used in Mariachi bands, has six strings and sounds an octave lower (8 notes) than a regular acoustic guitar.

There's not really a set "average" number of frets... Most electric guitars have between 21 and 24 frets, while most basses and acoustic guitars have between 18 and 24 frets. The necks of acoustic guitars also meet the bodies of the guitars at either the 12th or 14th frets, making anything past that difficult to play. It's also worth noting that you can purchase fretless guitars and basses, which, aptly named, have 0 frets (or 1, I guess, if you count the nut as the on big fret).

an acoustic guitar has six strings and does not use an amp, it is hollow which naturaly amplifys it. it has a more country sound but is not used soley for country. a bass guitar has four strings is larger, and has a lower sound than that of a regular electric or acoustic guitar. and electric guitar is thinner than an acoustic guitar and also has six strings. you can plug an electric guitar into an amp to produce a louder sound. many rock artists use electric guitars. there are also acoustic-electric guitars which are acoustic guitars, that you can plug into an amp.
