I know it sounds weird, but i totally believe that physical things can manifest a supernatural consciousness, and I was wondering whether digital code, and perhaps even certain concepts, could also harbour malignant energy.

It is possible for a web site to be haunted. If you watch the first Matrix you can find out the answer. Just like the codes breaking down to reveal another shell. The physical veil that covers this world can also be broken down to reveal another world. Just like a person it can be possessed by a spirit and website can also be "possessed" by unknown digital codes to "act" in strange ways. Like in the movie Hackers starring Angelina Jolie. The team of hackers are like digital witches and worlocks. A book of computer codes is like the Book of Shadows. Virtual Voodoo is possible!

The Internet has been around long enough that undoubtedly supernatural forces have cracked it and found it to be a warm friendly environment that is safe from suspicion and those that stalk them and cause them trouble.

The thing about your question that I'm not clear on is why would there only evil forces and not good ones too. Does not the stage of good versus evil play out in the ether?

I would suggest that since a ghost is a spirit, whatever is haunting the website would have to have been a lifeform , with a spirit.

Have you tried to adjust your monitor , or perhaps it just needs a good clean?

I guess it depends on why a supernatural force would want to possess anything. It has to have a purpose and I can see lots of purposes for haunting a web site. So it is plausible to me.

Sounds interesting and a new concept that people will hate.
They hated the "Haunted Abortion Clinic" idea. They'll hate you and your idea as well.
