One thing I know for sure that can cause a person to be constantly thirsty is diabetics. There are other symptoms also but sometimes you don't get but one at a time.

It is very important for you to go to a doctor as quickly as possible to be checked out. You don't have to have diabetics you could have something else. Or nothing at all.

If you see a doctor and are diagnosis as a diabetic the doctor will treat you and your at normal thirst should stop and get back to normal right away.

Do not hesitate make sure to see a doctor and tell them when this thirst started for you. As well as anything else that might be happening to you that feels strange or different. If you are unable to see your doctor or a doctor go to any emergency room and tell them what is happening and ask for help I am sure they will help you this is not something you can take care of with out medical attention.

Diabetes is the biggest metabolic syndrome matching this symptom. It does not matter how often you drink since your body is going to spill more water than you are taking in, and that will trigger the thirst reflex again. It is an extremely serious symptom, and it takes weeks to get an appointment so call right away.
You can end up doing more damage, and permanent damage, if you put it off.
Simple dehydration is a temporary thing; excessive thirst over a few days is a symprom of a metabolic maladjustment.
Good luck!

Most likely dehydration from exercise, illness, etc. If it is a long lasting problem and doesn't resolve regardless of amount of water, be tested for diabetes.

You might want to go to your Dr. because i dont know how true it is but I have heard that constant thrist is a sign of diebetes but i like said i dont know how true that is. Also keep hydrated by drinking water or things like Gatorade (Gatorade has a lot of elictrilites in it to keep you hydrated) Hence why althletes drink it to keep them hydrated.
