When watching older movies or shows I have found myself curious as to whether certain actors or actresses are still alive, and if they're not, finding out how they deid. Does anyone else share in this somewhat morbid curiosity or is it just me? The emergence of sites like Wikipedia and IMDB are filled with valuble info not just about their deats but their whole careers.

I know exactly what you mean. I'll be watching an old movie and think to myself, "Wow, every single person involved in this move is dead..."

It is kind'a freaky.

Oh, and there's a great site you didn't mention. It's one of my favourite sites to hang out at.

I don't think it's morbid. I think it's just curiosity. I mean, your sitting there watching an old show and realize you haven't seen that actor/actress in quite some time, so you look them up and sure enough they're dead. You want to find out how they died so you read on and sometimes pass the info on to others.

A good example would be my daughter really likes The Temptations, a made for tv movie about the singing group The Temptations. In the movie David Ruffin is thrown from a car dead and the narrator says the body stayed in the morgue for several days before anyone knew where he was. That cause of death was unknown. Well we looked that up online and found out that that wasn't true. David Ruffin died from an overdose. His driver rushed him to the hospital and had him checked out in emergency but he didn't make it. Because of the way Ruffin was portrayed in the movie and the inaccurate statement about his death, Ruffin's family sued the network (ABC I think). So it helps to know useless trivia, even if it's just to please your own curiosity.

Its not morbid at all, simply your human curiosity. You are not alone in this, lots of us like to know where they are and if they are still alive.

I look them up all the time. It could be morbid, I suppose, but it doesn't have to be.

now that you mention it, I realize I am freaky like that too. :) I think it's part of the human nature. We deal with death in strange ways.
