The McDonald's on the Pipestone Road exit, on I-94 in Michigan. It was horribly dirty. The floors throughout the restaurant were sticky, the bathrooms overflowing, paperless and grubby... counters and tabletops full of food scraps, wrappers and straw papers littered under the tables. The counter staff were sloppy, argumentative and didn't know how to make change. I could go on and on.
I grabbed a comments card from the wall rack and filled it out, mailed it in, but never heard anything. I have no clue if this particular McDonald's franchise has improved in the years since, as I decided never to go there again, even their drive through service. If the restaurant inside was that filthy, what would my food contain if I went through the drive through?

Does it have to be a restaurant or just a place where you buy cooked food?
Anyhow I try to travel as much as I can all over the world before I have to start taking cruises (cruises are for the elderly, shhh) and I am 51 yrs young adventurous and in love to the idea of seen new things. I am running out of countries to go.
There are gross places in every country, city and town in the world to include here in the US. From an acne riddle teenager working at MickyD's stimulating his brain through the nasal cavity right when we walked into the establishment witch we retreated from after that scene; to the fly riddled meat in Egypt with cats eying for a scrap at a local butcher/deli. Other example is the boats on the Yellow river in China that prepare the food for the riders and I saw an individual pail out water from it that went to make our lunch, the place where he got the water was full of duck feathers and floating debris. Many other stories so little time

A hole in the wall restaurant, taqueria, in H. Matamoros, Tamps., Mexico on the border across from Brownsville, Texas. You had to go through the kitchen to get to the restaurant in the backyard. Tin tables and rusted chairs under some trees. The kitchen had an old, dusty, dirty wood floor that was not varnished and it had a big hole in the floor in the middle of the kitchen that led to the ground under the house/restaurant that you had to carefully skirt around when you walked through. I will say this, the food was great!

Bob's Bar in Martinsburg, NE. It's pretty much the only place to go in the whole town - I think the population is about 60 or so. It's totally dark and dingy and smells of stale smoke and grease; flies far outnumber the people (even in the winter, I swear!); and the community bathroom sink sits outside the restrooms, in the dining area. I think you can make a whole meal from what's stuck on the ceiling if you were into that kind of thing, and the place has actually been shut down a couple of times for health violations. The place is locally famous, though, for their ginormous cheap burgers and their overflowing plates of deep-fried cheese curds!
