Time Management. What a killer. We think that it's going to kill our joy, but once we get the hang of it (I'm told) it increases our joy because then we actually are doing what we enjoy. Get it?

Tons of money is being made by people writing books about it. I've never finished one.
This suggestion may sound stupid, because I'm sure that your aim in life is not to clean your house, but neither was mine till recently and I sufferred for decades as you are and hopefully won't.
There's this website called FlyLady.net (because she teaches fly fishing) and she's got this program where she says you can do ANYthing for 15 minutes and it won't kill you. And the site offers organization tips and it is very affirming of you - you never fall behind, you get "sidetracked", start where you left off, and don't feel guilty. You are learning something new, does a baby feel guilty when starts to walk and it falls? No!
It's the only program that I stayed on for 4 months, and after 2 months of November and December being sick and struggling through the holidays, I'm little by little, and I mean LITTLE getting back into it like a beginner and it's OK.
Oh, in my free time I lounge on the sofa and read to totally escape my messy house. Sneeze.
The whole thing is that you didn't get into your rut over-night and you're not going to make up a schedule to transform yourself in month. But if you do something in some direction every day or a certain number of times a day determined by YOU for 15 minutes, one day, you will look up and say, "I see a difference," and it happened naturally and comfortably and maybe you're on a path to somewhere - or on a path to a path.

i go on the computer alot with my free time too. i also feel afterwards that i wasted time doing nothing when i had tons of other things i could do. try reading a book or cooking to relax, because those are low stress activities, but you are learning and accomplishing tasks while doing them..

i totally understand how you feel. i find myself "wasting" away at times as well. what has helped me was getting a planner and started to be more organized with my time. i create task lists that i want to accomplish daily, weekly, monthly and yearly (for the new year). i find that when i write things down, i'm more likely to do it and remember to do it. also, checking off the task makes me feel good that i actually accomplished something. good luck!

I think find out what you like to do.

Sometimes you have to do things to earn money.

If you find out what you really enjoy, practice it, do more, get good at it, then maybe get paid to do more of it.

I spend a lot of time just dealing with pain.
