I want to install Windows Media Player 11 and also Windows Live Desktop, but it won't let me until I install SP2, which I don't want to do because that will be an incredible hassle to do it right (meaning, wipe the harddrive and re-install everything)...I just don't have the time for that sh*t right now.

no there is no way, plus to install those programs you want will require files from SP2, which you dont have.

It's not a hassle. It does take an hour or two to download and install but it's all automatic. Do make sure you have backups of your important files (maybe burn them to a CD) before you go ahead, just in case anything goes wrong. You don't have to wipe the drive; it's an upgrade not a new installation.
