I believe that the majority of Americans BELIEVE they are the ONLY troops fighting a war in Iraq !

I also believe that USA BELIEVE it is winning a "war in Iraq"

I also believe that Americans have forgotten that the SOURCE of this "war on terrorism" that rages today is NOT in Iraq - contrary to popular belief, and sorry to burst your bubble here, but is actually in AFGHANISTAN - where 77% of US troops were withdrawn shortly after UK military help that was ASKED for by USA were withdrawn leaving UK troops (majority of NATO war-fighting troops on the ground) to clear up the mess there !

So the answer to your question..?

NO they are not, because there is no "WAR" in Iraq ! As I understood the evidence - no WMD were found. What had been going on that could be proved was that Saddam was breaking UN sanctions bigtime... whether the US-led coalition force tactics were the way to deal with that is open to question.

There is no war in Iraq. The opposing government/army was long ago removed from power, so effectively, we won the "war". Mission accomplished. Hussein hanged? Been there done that. What you have now is an OCCUPATION. It's a simple question: do you want to sacrifice young Americans' lives to help provide stability to Iraq's fledgling regime? Not me.

More like a dead heat if you ask me. But we need to stand up to the situation and just face it. Times like these are where we get that American spirit and heart we're known for and we usually do our job. I hope that we could focus on both Iraq and Afghanistan because that country is acting up again and if you remember that was where the whole thing started. By the way, even though I've never supported the war in Iraq (but the one in Afghanistan yes), I want to thank every American troop, man or woman, of all races, for sticking up for us because even though the war was started because of W's and the Republican's interests, they're doing what they think is right. And, eventually, when all the troops are back home, don't spit at them (my dad was spat on after he came home from 'Nam and he was called a baby killer when he was only a paramedic). Careful, dear Americans because it looks like as if it were the 60s/70s again.

Are we there to defeat Iraq? If not, I don't see how we can win the liberation. Seriously, we are fighting people to impose liberation on them, why are they fighting us back? If you are going to tell me we are fighting "the terrorists", has it dawned on anyone they are in other places besides Iraq? What are we going to do "liberate" the world to our thinking and beliefs?

No, because we have been there for over five years and have made no progress. We have failed to create a stable force in Iraq. We overthrew the only one.

What war? It's a pathetic experiment in using American troops as Iraqi police officers.

Winning no...but not really losing either. Pretty much a stalemate.

No, you cannot "win" another country's civil war.
