You can get some really expensive European brands, but these are good American brands

I have Maytags. I have a picture of Gordon Jump on my dryer. (He was the lonely Magtag repair man.) I've had various brands. All have lasted until I 'wanted' to upgrade. The washer is the most important and most likely to need repair. Keeping your filters clean is very important.
Don't buy cheap but don't buy so many buttons you have to have lessons on how to use the machines.

Range --- I like General Electric.
Washing Machine --- I like Kenmore and Maytag.

For the range, Amana is good. For the washer/dryer, I like Kenmore or Maytag.

Stick with Kenmore. I've had TERRIBLE experiences with GE appliances!!!
