I'd like to order products from the Internet. But how can I check if the company/website is legitamate? Are there websites that check up on companies to make sure they sell/do what they say they're supposed to?

I would check out the better business bureau website to see if they have complaints against them.

Start by googling the company website. Go to google and put whatever.com in, followed by the word review. So, say "yahoo.com review" would be what you type in. This should bring up results from consumer opinion sites such as Epinions and that will give you an idea of what the company is like. If the second thing that comes back in the results is "Horror stories" you know to stay away! If you want to go a step further, do a "Who Is" search on the company. This will tell you where the company is actually located and how long the domain (the .com) has been registered. If they just registered yesterday, they're a brand new business and you might want to think twice about doing business with them.
