Chin up, sweetheart. You'll be fine, given time.
Why not try this guy? He'll have you. He's me. Email me?

You're misinterpreting "positive thought".
If everyone who projected "positive energy" at something and received it, the world would be a much different place. Open your eyes for a sec, look around you. Who's wishing for a husband (the man) as hard as you are? Who's projecting positive energy into their lottery ticket?
Here's the hard truth: You're not going to get anything unless you work for it, and you have to WORK your A** OFF for it. A man who sits at home everyday and wishes, really hard, for what he wants will probably starve to death. That man must work to eat.
So don't wait for a miracle, don't chase after the rainbow. Miracles, when they come, will come to you. And they'll come when you NEED it, not WANT it.
So in the mean time, take action! Do what you have to to get some money in the bank. Try really getting to know another person, even as a friend. (Relationships take WORK and LOTS OF IT). Of course, sometimes you'll fail, as inevitably everyone does. But this is when you have to THINK POSITIVE, don't let it get you down.
So you didn't get the man you wanted, so what? Not everybody can get what they want. But there are plenty of other men out there, and you bet that there are plenty that you will like, and who will like you. So you lost one guy, so what? Open your eyes! There's a whole world out there!
Ok, and you didn't win the lottery either, well what ARE the chances of winning the lottery? Probably worse than getting struck by lightning three times in one day! But look around you! How many people around you (who are not broke) won the lottery? What are they doing that you are not? How come these people can achieve financial security and not you? Find out! Talk to them! And most importantly, WORK FOR IT!
Life is not easy, remember that. In fact, life is far from easy. But I'll tell you what, there ARE such things are miracles, but they'll only come when you least expect it.

Apart from positive thinking you need LUCK too! Sorry to say to this but a lot of people who say that you just have to be positive are bullshiting or have been lucky themselves. Letting go of things may put you in a frame of mind where you appear less needy so you may become more attractive to other people but I don't know how that would attract money. I believe in fate and if fate says you've got to wait 10 years for your man to arrive into your life then no matter how positive you are, it's just not happening. I wish you good luck though! Do not despair, I'm sure that there will be a nice man for you who might be well off and that's a bonus!

Anji you sound desperate, perhaps you should get out more, life doesn't involve miracles. Ease up, enjoy life. don't be so desperate. Life is not just money. You don't always get just what you wanted, rarely do. Take one step at a time, tomorrow is a new day. Could be you need a different job, or a break. Slow down, think, work it out one piece at a time.

All things take time. Don't worry and fret over it. Just let go and let it happen. Also, don't think about the "how" "when" or "where". The Universe will take care of all that. Keep that vivid picture in your head at all times of who and what you want to be. Get some books on the subject of The Law of Attraction. That will clear alot of things up for you, too.

Have you teied affirmations? I can suggest a couple of books.
the thing with positivity & positive thinking is that if you ATTACH to the outcome, (actually with anything), you push away the goal. You have to be detached to the outcome. That means if I get what I want that's great, if not, that's fine too. I'm grateful for all I have!
The second book is supposed to be a gem of a book regarding improving your finances.
Enjoy!

Thought you said you started thinking positive and to do that you need to let go of the negative thoughts too. So your neighbour got the man you wanted, not very nice are they so let it be their problem, and I still havent won the lottery either.
Don't leave yourself too open, people take advantage.

It is called Karma. One has to understand Karma and reincarnation to understand the big picture. We have to plan this life for our next existence. We should aspire to get out of this material world which is Maya (illusion) and temporary and full of misery. Chant the Maha Mantra which will purify all karma and bring one out of illusion and misery Go to krishnaculture. for details on how to get out of this mess and read Bhagavad Gita as it is By Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada- to understand the purpose of human life, karma and reincarnation

You and a million others...you can't rush life. Things happen at their own pace. Just fill your life up with meaningful work and people and the rest will happen on it's own.
