I have comets and calico goldfish in the same tank. For some reason, 1 of the comets and one of the calicos are just sitting in the corner of the tank for some reason. It kind of looks like they are sleeping.. but I know they are not. I am positive that they are not deceased,but this strange behavior is making me question the health of them. If I come near the tank, they move, however.. once I walk away, they go back to the same corner together. What is up with this?

How many fish do you have and in how many gallons? Usually you are supposed to have no more than one inch of fish per gallon, but goldfish are the exception because they are exceptionally dirty fish and produce alot of waste. If you don't' Have AT LEAST 10 gallons of water PER goldfish, they may be overcrowded and dying from the own ammonia they have produced. Get a bigger tank, keep it properly filtered and aerated, and make sure you have it at the proper temp.

That all depends on what size tank you have first of all. I have been told that gold fish can grow to be really big, like 10 to 12 inches. I have also been told that you should only have an inch of fish per gallon of water your tank holds. So maybe your tank is too small??

Maybe they are having sex and breeding. I mean when someone is pregnant their hormones rage. It might just be the same for goldfishes.

Well they are probably trying to breed togather but it is probably not working so they are probably staying togather.

What is their gender?
Could they be scared of the other fish?
