The Noonday Demon, by Andrew Solomon
Blink, by Malcolm Gladwell (not completely about psychology, but psychology plays a part--very interesting in any case)

(Gleitman) is a good textbook which is used for a lot of university Psychology degree courses. Its easy to read and gives a good insight into all the different areas of Psychology. Each chapter has learning aids and is set out into specific topics. For example, chapters might be specifically related to Child development, Perception, Clinical, Forensic, Social Psychology, Evolutionary Psychology etc.
