there are some things in reference to race im curious about.
1. i've read of white ppl say that black people were ugly dogs, dumb, etc. (im black by the way) do you agree with this?
2. i've read a lot of white people on here saying that "hispanic/latino" is not a race and many of you call them black which is beyond me. (in my opinion even though the dictionary def. is different - this is what the majority of indian latin americans prefer to be called - i know a lot of hispanic pplz!!- they do not call themselves "black". why the hell do some white ppl call hispanics black? (explain plz.)
3. umm..do you have a problem with inter racial dating? im an inter racial dater!! (cant do with the black guys)
4. do you label not so typical black ppl as "acting white" (i ******* hate it when ppl tell me that! you cant act a race!)

I am a w/male, and I am attracted to beautiful women, regardless of race. There are ugly people in every race, and there are attractive people in every race. I think its disgusting that someone told you white people view blacks to look like dogs! Have they ever seen Vanessa Williams, or Tyra Banks, or Venus Williams?? There's an adult film actress that is black and drop-dead gorgeous (can't think of her name). Don't listen to these idiots!~

As for the latino thing, they are a seperate 'race', and I don't know anyone, aside from Ahhhhhnold Swartzenegger, who thinks they are black.

As for interracial dating, why would anyone have a problem with it, unless they were very insecure about themselves or their race?

For your last question, I've heard this argument before about 'acting' your race, and I think its retarded. You should do whatever comes natural, and not worry about what others think. I have heard black people who are intelligent, educated, and powerful, being called 'uncle Toms', and I think this is ridiculous and pointless. What's wrong with being successful...???? Are these people saying that balck people are natuarlly unsuccessful or uneducated? This sounds to me like a form of racism.

Besides, why do we always tend to focus on our differences, and not on our similarities?

Rap music represents a culture, which is a mixture of people, rather then a race of people. Yes, you will find a lot of violence in rap, you will find deception, but you will also find a lot of love and good messages. The beat, the music of the rap culture comes of a little more aggressive then, let's say pop music which most of the time will portray and send the same message, but because the music tends to be slightly more melodic, it comes acorss as softer. I don't have a pecific genre of music that I listen to, I listen to everything, really everything. From Rap to Classic rock I will have my favorites. I am white and I grew up in a mixture of cultures where it has allowed me to appreciate all sides. Take punk music per example, which among I can use as an example Marlyn Manson..... What kind of message does he portray? Kill yourself and hate the world? Is this type of music that only whites listen to? Is Rap's violence only associated with blacks? In bothe cases, I say no, rather, whatever you, as an individual will associate to. On the other hand, if you have been brought up in a mostly rap culture, you will tend to listen and assicate to it more then punk. Even these days, we've seen P. Diddy mix punk and rap, however, what did the lyrics say? Each music genre has it's style and like I said, hurt, love, hate, deception are all part of these songs, it's just the way they come accross and how that that make you feel.

Normally I stay away from race, realign and sex topics, but I felt I needed to say something here. I think the "white people" your speaking of I think just have not been anywhere and have not done anything. Face it USA is a country of many different races and cultures, if we cant get alone and accept people are different we will wind up hating even our selves. I am not saying I do not have a problem with some things , but im learning to accept people for what and who they are. And to answer your question about the ugly dog deal, I seen some really ugly white people, I mean really UGLY and you cant let these stupid people get to you.

2. Hispanic IS DEFINITLY NOT a race. Hispanic is anyone that comes from a Spanish-speaking country. And people from those countries, be Spain or Latin America, do belong to different races, whites, blacks, amerindians, asians, mulattos, mestizos (what you stereotype as beeing the Hispanic race). The Hispanic race is a myth, a myth, a myth, A MYTH! Only because most Hispanics in the USA are brown it does not mean that all Hispanic are brown, ok?

Some black people act stupid and ignorant, just like some white people. I don't know what a Hispanic is supposed to be. Is it anyone who speaks Spanish? A person from Spain? Aren't they European?
As far as black/white social mixing, that is up to the people involved.
When someone talks about a black person acting white, I would immediately ask them if they were referring to a black stereotype.
These stereotypes are all creations of major media. Wearing rags around your head, or pants falling off your hips, or hats on backwards. Where do you think all of this comes from? It is a media creation to perpetuate a negative black stereotype. And when blacks don't follow the stereotype, they are said to be acting white!!
Acting like a civilized human being has nothing to do with being black or white. When blacks act the stereotype, whites reject them, and there is the perception of racism. And its all created by mainstream media.

and yes if heard black people being called acting white, and I agree with you that its dumb, but all they mean is in their view the "typical black guy" should be ghetto, and if hes not then hes acting white...I personally hate it when i hear that and argue with my friends that a person doesnt act white or black they act ghetto or not, regardless of their race.

"White people" or ANY people who spew out hateful remarks because of skin tone, are uneducated and cruel spirited. Most people, are a mix of cultures. Just because someone is white doesn't mean they don't have "colour" in there genes. So really they are attacking a part of themselves. To all of your questions I say: Acceptance is the only answer.
