Because baby pigeons grow fast and are nearly full sized by the time they leave the nest.

I grew up in London and Southampton, UK. Both cities are full of pigeons and like you I never saw a baby one. My guess is, the only pigeons that survive city life have nests in inaccessible places.

I rescued a baby pigeon once... it had fallen from it's nest
it looks like a baby duck
the man from the rspca said that they are well protected and that is why we never see them

pigeons actually hatch fully grown from the egg same as dolphins which is why you never see baby dolphins in trafalgar square either

dead pigeons go to bristol theres loads of them !

I saw 2 baby pigeons last spring....In my cocker spaniel puppy's mouth!

yes you do,but, you have to be very aware as to the time of day.
i.e.: feeding time!(when the male& female come back to the nest to feed them,approximately 100 times a day.

They are called chicks(squabs) and stay in the nest.When they come out you can see them..look harder.

You do see them. You are just not recognising them as they grow so quickly. We have too many here in our back garden !!!
