The station in Cleveland is not so bad. There are certainly dirtier and more dangerous stations in the US. You can arrive as early as you want before your departure although they don't generally like overnight guests; a few hours would be fine. If you use common sense you will be safe; don't trust strangers, keep an eye on your belongings, stay out of deserted hallways, etc. If you're just waiting in the departure lounge, you'll be fine but I'd not recommend going to sleep or you may wake up to find your baggage has been stolen. That's at any Greyhound station, not just Cleveland.

OMG! You take me back 20 years! I was 19 and they had a special, "Go anywhere for 99 dollars"......so I went from Lima Ohio to California to see my brother in the service. The commercials looked so nice with the nice looking people and lovely seats. What a crock! I swore I would never go on Greyhound again without some form of protection! There were really strange people on there! And scary too. The stations were about the same. It took 3 days and 3 nights to get there, and I never slept the whole way! I was too scared to sleep! After I got to my brothers, I slept for a whole day! They thought I would never wake up! LOL....but, seriously, if it was that dangerous 20 years ago, I can only imagine it would be worse today. So please be very careful. Take your own food too! It will save you a ton of money on food. The food at the stations are totally rediculous! Plus, they aren't the safest to eat. The machienes had some old food. Don't get me totally wrong, I actually did meet a couple of nice people. But that is not alot for the amount of time I was on there. Just remember to be very careful! Get some pepper spray to protect yourself. Be very careful and watch yourself and try to have a nice trip.

They can be pretty creepy. If you are there alone try not to have a long wait at night when there will be fewer travelers and employees around. Don't trust anyone who approaches you. Keep your stuff right with you (holding on to your handbag, etc.) and stay alert (no napping) and you should be okay. Just pay attention and be careful.

Just be careful. You get a lot of weirdo's who can't afford a car or a train. Be careful.. I think they are grose and scarey.
