yesterday i fell on my knee during a basketball game. It's not broken or dislocated, just swollen and the muscle around it is very tight. I now have a knee brace. How long will it take for it to heal so that i don't have to use the brace or crutches to walk?

ibroke my right knee cap off on aug 1 st 06 it was an easy 9weeks before the brace came off and i still have pain and problems with stability even with a good bone doctor. exercise is key to keep the muscles from setting up even with the pain, try to keep the site isolated and warm. good luck. ps like the man said you cant rollerskate in a buffalo herd-- that means on walnuts too, thats where i got hurt,fyi

It truly depends on how deeply it is injured. Follow instructions and let it heal correctly the first time or it will be damaged longer.

Everyone heals at a different rate. Give it about a week at least.
