As others have said, try the public library, they should have the local paper on microfilm. I know that the library in my hometown had them going back to the founding of local paper in the early 1900's.

Your local paper should have a web site. Visit the site and click the link for archive if they have one.
I know our local paper has extensive info on past stories. You just have to put the year in and it brings stories up for each month.
Try it. If that fails, google it on the net or visit your local library.

I use to work for a newspaper and if your newspapers are anything like the one I worked for you can request a copy. It may cost a few dollars but I'm sure it'll be well worth it. All's you'll have to know is about when it was published and it will be of help if you know what section it was published in!

Contact your local newpaper - they love this type of thing- you must have seen the ads "paper on your date of birth ..."etc
