Windows Media Player 11 and Internet Explorer 7 both need Windows XP. You can't install them on ME because they require features that ME doesn't have. If ME could do everything XP does, they wouldn't have bothered making XP, would they?

Trying to put new, better versions of software on Windows ME is like trying to cement bricks together with mayonnaise. It's messy, unstable and you'll only get hurt.

Yep, it pretty much supports most programs, they all write code for that version of windows, as far as windows media player 11 and ie 7 I dont think so, but check the site.

The software has to have a version for your operative system in order for you to install it.
If it's a new program and in the download page doesn't appear an option with your system (ME), probably the programmer didn't develop it.

honestly, you will see about exactly zero gains by going to later versions of apps .. but if it makes u feel better go for it ... u should be working on getting enough ram if u dont have it and going to windows2000 or XP... that WILL make a difference .
