Who would win on land, cougar or an alligator?

A full grown Alligator would win the cougar wouldn't be able to match the gators speed and the gator would be able to catch the cougar offguard pretty easily. Alligators are much larger and strongerthe cougars skin would be a lot easier to penetrate than the gators. It would not be an even match whatsoever.

A cougar for sure. Alligators aren't that agile on land. The generally are only quick in the forward direction. When coming from behind, even humans can jump on an alligator and hold it. How many times have you seen people catch alligators? They don't use anything other then a sling rope to catch the head. Yet no one ever tries to catch a cougar unless they hit it with a tranquilizer dart. I would like to see a human even attempt jumping on a cougar.

In flordia the cougars are small, so id put my money on a decent sized alligator to scare off a cougar. A cougar probably wouldnt mess with a alligator on land or in the water.

Definately the alligator, they have a powerful bite, besides cougars are only 100-200 lb.

i agree with the gator because of the stronger skin, someone said about people jumping on gators and not cougars, it takes alot of wait to hold down a big gator, and they have weak muscles that open the mouth but strong ones closing a cougar wouldnt be holding the mouth of the gator shut and one bite on the cougars back would prob break it or a bite on the head would prob kill the cougar. you dont see people jumping on king cobras but they jump on alligators what would win the king cobra or gator..

Cougars are stronger, so I think a cougar would win.
