Some barbaric practises are so abhorrent to the dignity of decent people, that it is outlawed virtually everywhere in the world. Cannibalism is one example. Can we not do the same for the reprehensible practise known as Communism?

Soviet Union - 62 million dead
China - 76 million dead
Cuba, East Germany, Yugoslavia, Romania, Poland - untold millions dead

What on earth are we waiting for? Lets outlaw this abberation, once and for all!

The UN won't do anything about it. They like that sort of thing and applaud it.

There is no truly communist country in the world and there never has been. The soviet union took communism and twisted it, and used it against the people there - it was very unlike the country that marx described in the manifesto. The soviet union was more of an autocratic reigime based around serfdom (i.e. a continuation of feudal russia) than communist.

And the UN cannot outlaw a political movement, as it is against freedom of expression - especially as murder was responsible for those people's deaths, not communism. It's like saying burger bar attendants are responsible for rape if a burger bar attendant rapes someone - just because he IS one doesn't mean that MADE him do it.

Why don't we start with a dead-stop to trade to and from China and Taiwan, followed by the exact same embargo for any country supporting or trading with other Communist countries? Doubt it'll happen, so you might as well keep dreaming.

I'd say outlawing despots would be better today (read - Castro, Chavez, Kim Jung Il, the junta that runs Burma, might even apply to Kaddafi).

With your idea, what do you do about China?

Here you go again with your goofy anti-Communist rap...

Are you stuck in the 50s? What is wrong with Communism that a little capitalism won't cure?

The UN can't "ban" it, but Communism doesn't work anyway---except in Catholic convents and monasteries, where all share equally.

Communism doesn't kill people. People in revolutions kill people--including the American Revolution.

And what do you have against Che?

Great point, the the UN issues resolutions that are not enforced and as of late have been overrun with corruption and scandal
