IMO currently stands for "In My Opinion."
It is called a Internet or urban slang word. Used mainly on messaging programs. ie. MSN, Yahoo, ICQ, and AIM, etc.

In most IM's and emails, it usually means "in my opinion". But it can also mean "International Money Order" even in an email! You need to give more context for a definitive answer.
