First you need to "Rip" the music from your CD's to the computer (since you don't have an itunes account yet), then go to My Documents\My Music and copy/files from there and paste them to your ipod. I'm assuming you already know how to sync your ipod to the pc....

Can't must have iTunes any attempt to sync files with other software will lead to the device's malfunction. If you don't have an installation CD refer to apple.com/itunes to free download the software.

Well, you can download from cds, but not off the internet. Also you need an i-tunes card.

The same way you drive a car with no fuel. You can, however, use iPod as a hard drive (someone referred to that) but you can't listen to those songs from the iPod.

I'm pretty sure you need itunes. It free to downloads itunes, so why not get it?? You don't actually have to buy the songs from them, you can download elsewhere.

yeah dude, go to itunes.com or apple.com and get a download, way easier than anything else, and its free.
