I am mainly interested from a technological point of view whereby a persons actions and thoughts are implanted without the person having any idea at all that they have been. I have heard of brainwaves being used to control a person and would like to know how this is done, but does anybody else have any other suggestions on how it can be done with again the person having no idea they are being controlled ? Thanks for your time and I will appreciate your answers !

Yes it is possible, but it will take a while. Totalitarian governments use this to control the thoughts of their citizens. Various methods of propaganda are used. North Koreans have been brainwashed, by ....what's his name???....oh well, their leader. The soviets also used propaganda.
However propaganda is not the only mind controlling technique. There are other methods called sub-consious persuasion, which is used on us every day in tv commericals. Controlling someone's mind is just a matter of controlling their nature really. Once you know the weak sides of the human nature you would know how to attack the brain so that it doesn't realize it's being attacked. Just read Brave New World Revisited, it describes many methods of mind control our governments use on us. Governments in the free world as well.

Brainwashing is used with some success in politics (making you believe that your type of people - whatever they happen to be - are superior to others) Used extensively in totalitarian regimes (the 3rd Reich, the Soviets, Fidel Castro, etc) and advertising (making people believe that one product is superior to others.) The method used is basicallt one of relentless repetition of the message, presented in a wat that just does not leave any doubt in the truth of the message

The success is not universal, however.
