umm you can download songs from itunes but it cost money. 99 cents per song. i just got an ipod for christmas and the first thing i did was connect my ipod to the usb port. then the itunes list popped up. after that i put in cds and it imports it into the comp. when and if you have done that, when it finishes you click sync ipod and it puts the songs into it. i downloaded some of my songs from myspace b/c some bands allow you to do that, but its sometimes hard to find.

Do the following:
1. Open iTunes.
2. Connect your iPod with a wire you got with it(big side in the iPod and the short side in the computer).
3. Go to the library in iTunes(which would be in the left side of the screen).
4. Drag and drop the song you want on your iPod on the iPod icon which would be the last icon on the left side of your screen.

Let it take time to transfer.
Hope this helps! Good luck!
