my car died the other day and is going to cost $2,000 to fix...i have no friends or relatives...i have bad credit and am on disability, am a single mom with one daughter...the garage is not willing to work with me...if i loose the car, i have no way to get to doctor appointments, store...im at the point that i am ready to just throw the towel in, have my daughter live with her friend in CA and move into a shelter....public transportation is very poor where i am at...i have no idea what to do..i have notes on craigs list and cyberbeg.com...some suggestions please?

the car has a lien on it so i cant sell it...and i live in a small apartment..i do have a therapy dog which is a great comfort

the other suggestions sound good. I'm not sure where you live, but I know that in big cities, there are tons of used car lots that will loan to people without good credit. Sometimes they even run deals where they don't check your credit at all.
I really hope that things work out for you. I'm so sorry to hear about your situation. Don't give up!!

Dear, it seems foolish to spend $2000 to fix a car. Why not sell it and start over. Buy a good used one. Trust me, you do not want to move into a shelter, you would be asked to leave after two weeks and then you would be on the street.. Without an address you would not receive your disability. Could you and your daughter watch children for parents who work? House sit? Think this over carefully.

You have this posted under "Chicago" and public transportation is great here except late at night wherein the doctor's are closed anyway.
Contact your social worker or department of human services.
or
Sell your computer and buy a car.

whats wrong with car? it sounds an expensive fix? in the UK you can get a good cheap runaround car for around 300 pounds about 200 dollars

There are lots of deals out there on cars under 500 bucks or.Ask the garage if they will except payments.
