No because Ronaldinho has not done what Pele did on an international level. He had a terrible world cup in 2006 and in 2002 when Brazil won it was mostly because of Ronaldo and Rivaldo. Messi has the talent to be the next Maradona but he gets injured to often, last season he had that terrible thigh injury and this season he has also missed half of Barca's games.

Ronaldo de Assis Moreira (born 21 March 1980 in Porto Alegre) is a Brazilian footballer, commonly known as Ronaldinho Gaúcho (due to his being from the Rio Grande do Sul state of Brazil), or simply Ronaldinho.

His name Ronaldinho (IPA, Brazilian Portuguese - [χonɑuˈdʒĩɲu]), Portuguese for "little Ronaldo", was originally devised as a means of distinguishing between himself and fellow Brazilian football star Ronaldo, with the additional title Gaúcho being used when the current Ronaldo was also known as Ronaldinho. Among his many achievements and accolades, Ronaldinho has been awarded the FIFA World Player of the Year award twice (2004, 2005), as well as the European Footballer of the Year award and the FIFPro World Player of the Year award (2005, 2006).[1] He has downplayed suggestions that he is the best footballer in the world, telling FourFourTwo magazine, "I don't even feel I'm the best at Barça."[2]

Thats a hard, and impossible comparison to make really. Different generations. Perhaps if they were in the same era of playing it could be done. However, Pele and Maradona are two of the all time greats and I don't know anyone could fill their shoes. They have to win some World Cups first to be even close to being considered.

No!! No one on this planet will ever be able to fill Pele or Diego Maradona's shoes. What those guys did in world cup games was magical.

I believe Ronalinho will be as good as Pele one day. He has lots of time to improve.

Regarding to Messi, as long as he learns how to score with his hands, he will be as good as Maradona -piece of cake.

No
Ronaldinho is good..but he doesn't play effective soccer.
Lots of tricks and no results.
When it comes down to the wire he doesn't produce in the field.
Look at the 06 world cup. I agree with the other guy that said Brazil won the 02 b/c of Ronaldo and Rivaldo.
Look at his recent final of clubs against Internacional (Brazil).
When it is "for real" he can't decide.
