According to all divine books like bible, quran etc. It is mentioned that after death we will transfer to another world where God will punish or reward us for our deeds in the form of heaven and hell. And after death this will be our new life and we wont die again. according to divine revelations that till death we are closely watched by God and this world is made by him to test us that who is modest and who is corrupt. who will follow him and who will go against him, and he knows what we do, so after death God will ask for our deeds and if they were good and according to his wish, than we will be rewarded by good place in heaven on the other hand we will find our end in hell.

We stop breathing. Our thoughts, feelings, senses, all gone. And we are like somebody in very deep sleep who knows nothing what is happening around him. And our body slowly returns to its origin, which is dust or earth. We will sleep in the dust until the resurrection day. If we are saved we well come up in the first resurrection. If we have rejected God's grace, we will be resurrected at the second resurrection when we will be wiped out together with Satan, sin an sinners, so that this earth without all the bad things will be a happy place forever for those who are willing to live according to God's plan.

Nobody really knows, obviously, but all the evidence is that when we're dead, we're dead, and our bodies return to the earth in various forms, becoming once again part of the minerals and mulch. Our personality remains only as long as we are remembered by the living. So do all your good deeds and have all your fun now - when it's over, it's over.

If you are interested in the physical disintegration of bodies, I recommend Jim Crace's novel "Being Dead"

Ecclesiastes 9:5 For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all, neither do they anymore have wages, because the remembrance of them has been forgotten. 6 Also, their love and their hate and their jealousy have already perished, and they have no portion anymore to time indefinite in anything that has to be done under the sun.....10 All that your hand finds to do, do with your very power, for there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in She′ol, the place to which you are going.

Sheol is the hebrew word for grave, Hades is Greek, many bible translations render it hell...but it is not the fiery hell that we have been taught of...just the grave...pit...six feet under the ground. The body/soul (not immortal) returns to dust (Genesis 3:19) Spirit (different from soul, breath of life) returns to God.

Ecclesiastes 12:7 states: “The dust [of his body] returns to the earth just as it happened to be and the spirit itself returns to the true God who gave it.”

i don't think that anyone can say for sure; not even the greatest scientist or religious figure.

after all, it seems only a matter of opinion what happens to us while we're still alive; hence the variety of philosophical standpoints.

Nobody knows nor has anyone ever known. People such as priests will tell you what happens but they don't really know so just get on with life and don't worry about it

We go back to where we came from. God or the elements of the earth, or both. No one has come back to tell us with any certainty!

Nobody will ever know that until they die. It's one of 'death's' great mysteries.
