I have never read the books or seen the movies. Back in the 70s I shared a house with two stoners who did nothing but read Tolkien all day and talk about it to each other. They used to act scenes from the books and quote passages continually. Since then I have found any reference to Lord of Rings irritating.

I LOVE Lord of the Rings (in fact, my family is planning a Middle Earth fest)! But yeah, there are people out there. Some think its boring. Some think its evil. Some don't like to think that much. But I love it!

I have never seen a Lord of the Rings movie or read any of the books and probably never will.
The whole fantasy realm is of no interest to me.

I don't really care for it.

I appreciate the efforts of the actors and crew to pull off the movies, but it's just not my thing. Creepy little bald things with messed up teeth waddling around being freaky saying 'my precious' is just...not great.

I personally love LOTR, but I have friends who think its boring and stupid. They can't see what makes me think its such a wonderful story. Then again, I can't understand why they like the movies and books they like.

It all depends on personal taste. I think LOTR has many good messages that can be used in what's happening in today's world. Tolkien is my favorite author of all time and I think the movies are just wonderful.

I have tried to watch the movies, but I can never get through them. I'm sure if I watched all the movies I would have a different opinion, but for now I don't like it.

I sorta like it. I just think that its kinda a silly plot line (i dont really like fantasy) and i just cant understand who would waste like 9 hours of their life on those type of movies when the whole plot can pretty much be summed up in one sentence.
