Okay, please dont call me a retard...But I am pretty confused about calculating the conception of my 2nd child.
Okay, I had our first ultrasound on January 2nd, and it showed us at exactly 8 weeks. And that put my due date at August 14th my OB said. To find what day I concieved I would have to count backwards 8 weeks from Jan 2nd right? That would land me at Nov. 7th. So does that mean that I concieved on November 7th?
Its just confusing for me becuase my first day of my LMP was Oct. 27th and my cycle is 35 days long. Would it be possible to ovulate and concieve right after my period like that? This is just so confusing! I did one of those calculator things and it said that I was the most fertal on Nov. 13th-17th, but that wouldnt make me as far along! Or would it?
Where are all the conception experts!!!

P.s. Sorry if this is a really dumb question, but I just want to have a better idea of when our baby is due.

fee fee, you must think that a cycle is your menstual *period* (when you bleed). Its not, your menstual period (when you bleed) is a part of your cycle. A menstual *cycle* is is a recurring cycle of physiological changes in the females of some animal species that is associated with reproductive fertility. Just for future info dear.

The 8 weeks includes 2 weeks that are pre-ovulation. So Nov 13-17 is probably when you conceived. Baby was probably implanted into your uterine lining around Nov 21st.

Let's say you menstrate at the beginning of the month. Middle of the month is ovulation. At the end of the month you pee on a stick and find out you are pregnant. The doctor will say you are 4 weeks pregnant. Pregnancy counting starts at last menstration, so its 2 weeks pre-ovulation and 2 weeks actual baby inside. I know its a crazy way of counting. I think doctor's do it just to drive women crazy!

Its possible to get pregnant when you are menstruating and its also possible to have another or many more months of menstruation after you become pregnant. Just because your most fertile time is one week of the month doesn't mean you can't get pregnant any other day of the month. Ultrasounds measure more than one measurement and average these to get a due date. When you get your next one the date may change depending on the averages. Your doctor will give you a date based on your last period and these are usually the accepted due date. The doctor won't change your due date from ultrasounds unless you have had menstruation during pregnancy and this has caused you not to realize you were pregnant for a few months.Just keep the date your doctor gave you and ignore the ultrasound I had one ultrasound a month due to health concerns and the date was always changing (believe me it stresses you when they tell you in July that your August baby will be end of August instead of beginning like you are expecting and it is hot! hot! hot! outside) Congratulations and good luck

YOU DIDN'T HAVE TO CONCEIVE WHEN YOU WERE THE MOST FERTAL, YOU COULD HAVE BEEN A LITTLE BIT FERTAL. BUT IF YOUR CYCLE IS 35 DAYS LONG, YOU WOULD NEVER STOP BLEEDING.
